IT IS THE LORD
This can be said:
when we are surprised by the peace of prayer;
by the love of a friend,
by the care shown us when we need care,
by the truth that enlightens our minds
and the life that gives a lift to our hearts,
and the care that we offer to others.

It is the Lord
who takes the bread of life
and speaks the word of life
to give direction and nourishment for our journey
Jesus, the God of earth,
the God of heaven.

“Peace be with you”
Much of the unhappiness in our world today has its roots in how we see ourselves. Too often we put ourselves down and fall into the tempting trap of comparing ourselves to others. God never makes comparisons or compares us to someone else. We can never live up to be someone else but we can live up to who God created us to be. We can begin this by believing in what we have to offer. It doesn’t have to be earth shattering but our little is all that God wants. Others may demand much but never God. God always wants to extend peace to us. Can we make peace with ourselves first and in particular as we journey through these weeks of Easter? Can we let the negative and cloudy part of our past behind and move on. It is the only way forward.
‘Until you make peace with who you are, you’ll never be content with what you have’. Doris Mortman.

Sheep and Lambs
All in the April morning,
April airs were abroad;
Sheep with their little lambs
Passed me by on the road.

The sheep with their little lambs
Passed me by on the road;
All in an April evening
I thought on the Lamb of God.

The lambs were weary and crying
With a weak human cry;
I thought on the Lamb of God
Going meekly to die.

Up in the blue, blue mountains
Dewy pastures are sweet:
Rest for the little bodies,
Rest for the little feet.

Rest for the Lamb of God,
Up on the hill-top green;
Only a cross of shame
Two stark crosses between.

All in the April evening,
April airs were abroad;
I saw the sheep with their little lambs
And I thought on the Lamb of God.
BLESSING OF EASTER FOOD

“We are God’s Work of Art”
As St. Paul reminds us today, our God is infinitely rich in grace and mercy. God’s generous love is a free gift and through that love we are brought to life. Because of that, as our Gospel reminds us, we are invited to leave the darkness behind us and to stand in God’s loving presence and light.
Lord, pour out your blessings
On all mothers today.
Thank you for their special love.
Keep them always safe in your peace.
Amen.
