New Bust of Bishop Delany
We offer sincere thanks to the Patrician Brothers who, through the good offices of Br. Camillus, have donated the beautiful bronze bust of Bishop Daniel Delany which has been erected in the Parish Church, near his grave. This is a fitting monument to mark the Bicentenaries, celebrated in recent years, of the Church, the Brigidine Sisters and the Patrician Brothers.

The Blind man said to Jesus:
“Master, let me see again”.
“The poor, are not there just to receive our charity:
They are sources of life and truth, peacemakers.
This, then, is the great secret of Jesus, hidden in the Gospels.

Many people see them as a sign of death, source of despair;
A problem, a burden, people to be pushed aside, perhaps, eliminated,
Forced to change their ways.

Jesus shows us that the poor can transform our hearts, fill us with light and compassion, if we are willing to accept to meet them and live in communion with them”.
Jean Vanier.
